This lime-plastered café studio in South Delhi announces itself before you reach the door. A full-height jaali of terracotta pots and perforated bricks runs the length of the street edge - hundreds of vessels held in a steel grid, throwing dotted shadow onto the courtyard behind it. Push past the palm and the noise of South Delhi thins to nothing.

Inside, the walls are hand-finished lime plaster in a warm sand tone, curving into deep arched thresholds instead of doorframes. Green marble is set into the floor in soft crescents and circles, catching light like water. Bottle-green steel windows frame the courtyard on two sides, filtered by rolled bamboo chiks. Terracotta arch niches float on the wall, a mossy green column anchors the centre of the plan, and low wooden benches, folding chairs and marble-topped tables sit light enough to be moved in a minute. A vintage green typewriter sits on one table like a prop that was never staged. Track lighting runs on black rails overhead, warm and dimmable.
